Established in the early 1990s as Canada’s first non-profit community service ski co-operative, Shames Mountain boasts some of the deepest, most consistent snow packs in North America. Just a 1.5-hour drive from Prince Rupert, it’s easily accessible and, with 1,600 vertical feet of powder, 28 cut runs, and more than 7,800 acres of backcountry to explore, it’s a winter wonderland for skiers and snowboarders.
